Makeup Tricks and Tips for Beautiful Budget Conscious Brides
Look beautiful on your wedding or any other pre-wedding function without breaking the bank. Today we share a few makeup tricks and tips for budget conscious brides that will help you stretch your wedding budget.
Budget Conscious Brides: Get your money’s worth!
Never splurge on mascara. Inexpensive mascara is usually amazing, and just for a few bucks you can glam up nicely.

Always spend on foundation. It’s important that your foundation exactly matches your skin. Not only are you not able to test products from the drug store shelves, but you simply don’t get as a wide array of shades to choose from as you do at a department store counter. And definitely you don’t want to make so many trips to the store to find the right the right shade of foundation.
Make the most of the makeup goodies you’ve already got with these bonus tips.
Makeup Tricks and Tips for your Eyes
This is a great eye shadow trick. Line your top and bottom lash lines with a dark eye pencil, then rub some petroleum jelly on your lids. Shut your eyes really tight, and when you open them you will have a sexy smoky eye.
For an expertly-drawn cat eye look use this makeup trick. Grab a post-it note, paper towel or even a business card. Close the eye you’re going to work on, and line up the note, card, or towel at a slight upward angle. Use it as a guide for drawing the distinctive swooped-up line using your favorite eye liner.
If you want to shave some dollars off your eyeshadow budget, slide on some eye primer! Then sweep on white eyeshadow over your entire upper and, why not, lower eyelid before applying a color. The white behaves as a secondary primer and as a canvas that brightens up the eye and allows other colors to stand out, saving you money on additional product from touch ups.
Adding Eyelash Volume Without Falsies
Falsies are expensive and a pain to apply. All that glue and tweezers work will leave you frazzled before going out. If you love the volume false eyelashes give you go for something much easier: baby powder. After you’ve applied one coat of mascara on your eyelashes, dip a clean mascara wand or cotton swab into some talcum or baby powder and sweep it along the underside of your lashes. Then, apply another coat. The mascara will stick to the baby powder, giving them volume and length, thus making your lashes look longer and fuller – without the falsies.
Makeup Tricks and Tips To Add Color To Your Skin
Budget conscious brides do not need to spend on blush for the cheeks. While using lipstick as a blush is not new, it is tried and true. If you apply it on the apples of your cheeks and blend out, you get a beautiful shine.
For a dewy skin glow, mix a little bronzer with clear gloss to create your own shade. Or combine illuminated shimmer powder with body moisturizer to give your skin a sexy glow. Who needs to spend a fortune on self tanners?
We usually highlight and shade our faces with makeup to carve out cheekbones and highlight our best features. Here is an easy technique that will make you look sun kissed and carpet-ready. After you’ve applied your foundation, load up a bronzer brush with product. Start on one side of the forehead (right above your temple) and draw an imaginary reverse number three down that side of your face, down to the cheekbone and then again from there to the jawbone up to just below the corner of your mouth. Repeat on the other side in reverse. You’ll be pleasantly surprised with the results. I definitely was and use it daily.
Achieve the Airbrushed Look
Are you looking to have that airbrush look and save money on foundation at the same time? Well, you’ve come to the right place. Applying base with a stippling brush will give you that flawless look and will not use up as much product as your sponge does.
For those who’ve never seen one, the stippling brush or skunk brush or dual fiber brush is a 2-color brush, one set of bristles darker than the other one. You can see them on the image. Pour some foundation on the back of your hand or on a flat surface to grab some product with the stipple brush off of that surface by stippling on it (do not dip the foundation on the brush or let it seep into the black bristles). Now, begin stippling (or poking repeatedly) your face with the brush. You will see dots begin to cover your face. Continue doing it until the skin looks perfectly covered. Do not leave your ears, neck, hairline or the area around the eyes out! When you are done you will have saved on foundation and flaunt a flawless airbrush look.
Pucker-Up!
Who doesn’t have a few different reds stashed in their purse? Lip color can be expensive but there are tricks and tips to save here too. Pair a shiny gloss with a matte red lipstick, you get sheer coverage and a ton of pigment that screams sexy.
Prepare before you pucker up: Smooth lips are an essential first step when applying lipstick, but you don’t need to buy a lip scrub. Mix equal parts brown sugar, olive oil, and vanilla extract. Gently massage the mixture over lips and remove with a tissue. Voila! Flake-free lips ready for makeup!
Do you want an easy way to get fuller lips with makeup you already own? Apply your lipstick and brush some shimmery ivory eyeshadow just to the center of your lips. It creates a volumizing effect that makes them look fuller
Always remember that the best bridal make-up is simply the most exquisitely polished version of how the bride usually looks.
